Statesboro, Georgia - Mrs. Ann Beasley Walters of Statesboro, GA, age 77, passed away Thursday, May 17, 2012 after a long battle with Alzheimer's disease.

She is survived by her devoted husband of 55 years, George; daughter Lenette Walters of Minnetrista, MN; brother and sister-in-law Reggie and Joann Beasley of Statesboro; Sister Lucille Aldred of Statesboro, GA; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her half sister, Margaret Mallard of Statesboro, GA.

The native of Bulloch County was the 1953 Salutatorian of Marvin Pittman High School and was awarded a full scholarship in to Draughons Junior College in Savannah. Mrs. Walters was employed with GE Capital as an office manager for a number of years before taking her next role as mom, room mother, and youth sports supporter. Through the numerous corporate relocations, many strong friendships were formed which she cherished deeply. She treasured her many global adventures, sharing laughter and stories with all she met. One of her greatest joys was being a Pink Lady volunteer for St. Joseph's Hospital in Atlanta for over 14 years and participating in the Good Time Band where she entertained at assisted living centers and nursing homes in the Atlanta area.

The family would like to thank the staff at Gentilly Gardens and Emanuel Medical Center Nursing Home for the excellent care and kindness they provided.

The funeral will be held on Tuesday at 2:00 p.m. at St. Paul's Lutheran Church with Pastor Sam Clay officiating.

Interment will be on Tuesday at 5:30 p.m. in Memory Hill Cemetery in Milledgeville, GA.

Joiner-Anderson Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
