Beasley, Jr. Statesboro - David C. "D.C." Beasley, Jr., 88, died Saturday, January 25, 2003 at East Georgia Regional Medical Center after an extended illness. The native and lifelong resident of Bulloch County was a retired truck driver with the City of Statesboro. Mr. Beasley was a member of the Eastern Heights Baptist Church where he was a member of the Jeff Owens Sunday School Class.
Survivors: his wife of 63 years, Eloise Newton Beasley of Statesboro; five daughters and sons-in-law, Zena and James Gordon of Langley SC, Patsy and Raymond Brannen of Statesboro, Lynette and Carlton Cooper of Richmond Hill, Sue and Hugh Colson of Statesboro and Melissa and Jerry Brown of Statesboro; two sons and daughter-in-law, Bobby and Shirley Beasley of Fayetteville, Inman and Wanda Beasley of Savannah; two brothers, Bruce Beasley of Bristol, TN and Reggie Beasley of Statesboro; two sisters, Anna Rea Walton of North Carolina and Lucille Aldred of Statesboro; a sister-in-law, Julia Beasley of Statesboro; 14 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation: 4:00-7:00 p.m. Sunday at Joiner-Anderson Funeral Home. Funeral Services: 2:00 p.m. Monday in the chapel of Joiner-Anderson Funeral Home with Rev. Carlton Cooper officiating. Burial: Friendship Baptist Church Cemetery. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
