Marilee, the fourth of seven daughters of Zeta and Andrew Bell of Castledale, Utah, was born on Oct. 19, 1932.
After a year at Carbon College, she decided to join the Navy in Great Lakes, IL. There, she met the love of her life, Bill Hedley. She was very proud of her duties as a Wave. Marilee and Bill remained in Illinois while Bill finished school. Then in 1956, they headed out west to Concord. Big opportunities opened up for them when they settled down in San Jose where they were prominent members of the community since 1958.
Marilee was an avid bridge player, domino player, world traveler, true-crime show watcher, golfer and an excellent cook.
Having been to almost every place on the planet, she was looking forward to her first visit in October to the Panama Canal. She managed to fit in a bridge game almost everywhere and actually played a few hands at the Warsaw Airport.
She could start up a conversation with anyone at any place and keep it entertaining for hours.
Her signature dark brown hair with the white silver front made her easily recognizable by young and old. She was a dedicated member of many clubs including PEO, Town Club, Bridge Club and La Riconada Country Club. She supported and contributed to the American Cancer Society, Hospice, American Heart Association, and the Coal Miners Association among others. Marilee will be greatly missed in all capacities by those that knew her and knew of her.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Zeta and Andrew Bell and her husband, Bill Hedley. She is survived by her faithful friend and constant partner, Leland Livingston; her son and his wife, Peder and Stacie Hedley of Sonoma; her daughter, Andrea Hedley of W. Jordan, UT; six grandchildren, Shannon Thomas, William Alex Farrimond, Nykki Farrimond, Danika Hedley, Raegen Hedley and Jensen Hedley; her sisters, Roanna (Joe) Daly, Beulah (Gus) Klekas, Helen (Ted) Crawford, Andrea (Wendall) Farr, Beth (Harley) Lee, Geraldine (Ward) Hunnington and many nieces and nephews.
