Christian Hoffman Jr.'s sponsors at his baptism were his uncle, Nicholas Hoffman, and his wife Anna Margaretha. These records were extracted from the original records of Hoffman's Church, or St. Peter's in Lykens Valley. Christian was a farmer, and remained on original "J.P.Hoffman" homestead lands, which were located near SNYDER's MILL, in Lykens Valley, now Washington Twp., not far from Berrysburg. Christian also married there, but an exact date is not known at this time. In the 1850 US PA census records, it notes Christian and his wife Sarah living in Washington Township. A Dauphin county map, circa 1875 notes this farmhouse, which he lived on all of his life. During his life he attended the local schools of Lykens Valley, was a member of Hoffman's Reformed Church, then later, Union Salem's Kirche, Berrysburg, Mifflin Township, where he and Sarah are now interred. Christian's short "bio" was extracted from the Commemorative Biographical Encyclopedia of Dauphin County Pa., 1896, by Runk & Company Publishers, page 1132. Christian's will, probated June 3rd, 1869 named his son Cornelius and brother Phillip as co-executors of his estate. A deed dated 1872 on lands that were once owned by Christian Jr., notes these men as administrators. This deed can be found in the Dauphin County Courthouse Records, Harrisburg, Dauphin county, PA. A "Hoffman" family photo exists, taken in August of 1952 in front of the Christian Hoffman Jr. farmhouse in Washington Twp., on the last "visit" made to the farmhouse by his (3) surviving grandsons: Aaron, Charles, and Jake Hoffman. A recent photo of the farmhouse was taken in 2006.
