Robert Willis Bridges, age 77 of Lovelady, passed away Sunday, August 7 in the Houston County Hospital. Mr. Bridges was born on May 18, 1900 in Leon County, but had resided in Houston County for the past 50 years. he was a retired farmer and rancher, and a member of the Baptist Church.
Funeral services were held at 4 p.m. Monday, August 8, in the Waller Family Chapel with Rev. David Wood officiating. Burial was in the Bynum Cemetery.
Survivors include his wife, Viola Bridges of Lovelady; sons, Howard Bridges and Garland Bridges of Houston, Earl Bridges of Sugarland, and Terrell Bridges of Crockett; daughters, Eloise Adams, Joyce Adams and Geraldine Gardner, all of Houston, and Hilda Adams of Angleton; 19 grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
Robert and Viola were married Jan. 17, 1923 in Pearson Chapel, Houston Co., Texas.
