My grandmother, whom her grandchildren lovingly called Memaw, was a picture perfect grandmother! She was everything you would want or expect from a grandmother. She taught us grandchildren how to cook & sew & to be a good person. She taught me how to be a lady & how to love my Lord!
My sister & I lived across the pasture from our grandparents our whole childhood. Memaw always has sweets made! Making cookies & cakes was a favorite thing to do, Liz/Libby & I would always get to lick the spoons. Memaw made quilts & dresses for us. We had grilled cheese sandwiches & tomato soup often! My Memaw was absolutely perfect to me!
My Papaw always called her Girlie, & she would giggle & sit on his lap. My grandparents love for each other was what everyone would want in a relationship! Their marriage was filled with happiness & love! Holidays were always filled with family! We had family get-togethers with all of my grandparents siblings families, those times are one of my most cherished memories!
My Memaw never cursed, she had silly little sayings like, Shoot a Monkey! She would scold us if we ever slipped up & said a bad word. We spent many days going to my great grandmother Viola's house in Lovelady. We lovingly called her Granny.
My Memaw was an amazing woman & everyone who knew her, loved her. She never gossiped or said bad things about anyone. My childhood was wonderful & I thank her for showing me how to live a good life! She was happy with what she had. I never heard a single complaint from her ever.. She always fixed her hair & put on makeup & always looked like a beautiful lady! I love you Memaw with all of my heart & I know you will great me with open arms when it is my time to go to Heaven!
