Andy Carringer, Jr., 86, of the Farley Branch community in Robbinsville, NC, went home to be with the Lord on May 10, 2012 at his home, five days after his birthday, which was on May 5th. Junior was preceded in death by his parents, Andy Carringer Sr. and Lena Collins Carringer; three brothers, Kimsey Jackson, George Carringer, and Mac Farley; four sisters, Esta Vee Payne, Shelby Jean Boring, Nora Lou Fann, and Stacey Williams; and his infant son, Calvin Carringer. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Hannah Lee Carringer; three sons and daughters in law, Lester and Ruby Carringer, Philip (Bubba) and and Sheila Carringer, and Rodney and Jennie Carringer; one daughter and son in law, Angie and Joe Gladden, all of Robbinsville, NC. He is also survived by four grandchildren, Christy Scism and Les Scism, Andrew and Brittany Carringer, James Carringer, and Ashley Gladden; three great grandkids, Peyton Scism, Laney Scism, and Serah Carringer. He also has several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am Sunday, May 13, 2012 at Meadow Branch Baptist Church, of which he was a member. The Reverends Onley Williams and Bo Thomas will officiate and Rick Boring will read the obituary. Burial will follow at Farley Cemetery with a Flag Presentation by Eller Rogers American Legion Post 192 and Carringer Webster VFW Post 8635. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 pm Saturday at Meadow Branch Baptist Church, where the body will remain until the service. Townson-Smith Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
