Geraldine M. Shriner Anuta, 85, of West Lafayette, died at 1:05 PM Friday, Dec. 8, 1995 in Heritage Healthcare Center.
She was born in Lafayette June 25, 1910. Her marriage was to Edward R. Anuta on Oct. 21, 1933, in Chicago. He survives and is a former Purdue University chemistry department staff member. Mrs. Anuta attended St. Agnes Academy in Indianapolis from 1915 until 1925, and graduated from Jefferson High School in 1928. She was employed a number of years as a secretary in the Purdue registrar's office under Registrar R.D. Stone. She later was a Realtor with Wendall Mason Realty. Mrs. Anuta was a member of St. John's Episcopal Church, Tri Kappa sorority, Masonic Order of Rainbow for Girls, and Eastern Star Chapter 507 in West Lafayette. She was appointed by Judge Warren Thompson to the first Tippecanoe County School Board that led to the re-organization of county schools.
Also surviving are three sons, Dr. Paul E. Anuta of LaPlata, MD; David A. Anuta of Warsaw, IN; and Phillip W. Anuta of Long Grove, IL; and a daughter Judith McFadden Anuta of Phoenix, AZ. Service Dec. 13 at St. John's Episcopal Church, the Rev. Edward Tourangeau officiating. Internment Tippecanoe Memory Gardens.
