Mr. Tucker was married May 8, 1878, to Miss Jennie M. Stratton of Bridgeport. He leaves besides his wife, eleven children, Mrs. William Clift of Brooklyn, N.Y., Mrs. William H. Frank, Miss Adeline Gertrude Tucker, Miss Grace Edith Tucker of Brooklyn, N.Y., and the Misses Mary Stratton, Gladys Eda and Evelyn Violet, the latter 10 years old; and William Howard, Herbert Raymond, Everett Erastus and Charlton Earle Tucker. He also leaves two sisters, Mrs. Horace O. Case and Mrs. Addie B. Nichols.

He was wounded in the second battle of Bull Run with a gunshot wound to the shoulder. He also had the distinction of being one of the first 500 volunteers to President Lincoln to serve in the civil war and received a commodation for that.
