Margaret Douglass Died Last Week
One of Hudson Townships Oldest Residents Goes to Her Eternal Reward.
Margaret E. Douglas, one of the oldest residents of Hudson Township, passed away on September 13, 1921, at the age of 70 years, 4 months and 3 weeks, at the home of her son, William Douglas, after a lingering illness of several weeks.
Born near Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada, April 19, 1851. Her childhood days were spent with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Alex McCurdy. At the age of 18 years, going to Lynn, Mass., where she met and married Zenas W. Douglas, They moved to St. Cloud Minn., in 1871 and later to Hudson township, where they purchased a farm and prospered, receiving the respect of the community.
In December, 1918, her husband passed away, and since that time her health has failed.
Services were conducted from the Forada church by Rev. Grundy.
Interment was at Kinkead cemetery, Alexandria, Minn.
The pall bearers were all old friends, F.E. Westerfield, Henry Daniels, Edw. Moulton, W.N. Shippen, Sylvester Chase, John McClellan.
She leaves to mourn the loss of a dearly beloved mother, two sons and two daughters, Wm. Z. Douglas of Forada, Minn., S.B. Douglas of Enderlin, N.D., Mrs. B. D. Bracken, Forada, Minn., Mrs. Chas. J. Anderson, Stambaugh, Mich.
