Frederick Richard Klinder Senior, 89, Michigan City, Indiana, died at 2 a.m. Sunday, January 3, 1999 at his home. The funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Ott-Haverstock Funeral Chapel, Michigan City, Indiana with the Reverend Dale Larson officiating. Burial will be at Greenwood Cemetery. Friends may call from 4-8 p.m Wednesday and 9 a.m. until the time of the service which will be Thursday at the funeral chapel. Mr. Klinder was born November 20, 1909 in Michigan City, Indiana, the son of Richard Carl Klinder and Louisa A. Koffman Klinder. At one year of age, his mother died and one year later his father married Amelia Rachow Klinder who became the mother he never knew. On June 1, 1935, he married Evelyn Lundahl. They were married nearly 59 years. Evelyn preceded Frederick in death on May 23, 1994. Surviving is a son, Frederick R. Klinder Junior (Cheryl) of Michigan City, Indiana; three granddaughters; Leanne Shue of Fort Lauderdale, Florida, also Stacy Klinder and Melissa Klinder, both of Michigan City; a grandson, Steve Shue of Fort Lauderdale, Florida; and two great-grandchildren. A daughter, Ardith Shue, two brothers and two sisters, precedced him in death. Mr. Klinder was a retired carpenter and millright with Northwest Union Local 1485. He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles and St. Paul Lutheran Church. Memorials may be made to St. Paul Lutheran Church.
