Mrs. G.M. Stevenson Loses Brother and Sister
On March 8th Mrs. G.M. Stevenson had a message stating that her brother, Mr. A.B. Collins, had passed away at is home in Alamo, Texas following a stroke of paralysis. He was 78 years old and a native of Russell County.
Mr. Collins is survived by his wife, Mrs. Amanda Perryman Collins, also a native of Russell County; two sons, Dr. Ray Collins of Houston, Texas, and Carlos Collins, and one daughter, Mrs. Beulah Williams, of New Mexico.
On March 17, Mrs. Stevenson received a message bearing the sad news that her sister, Mrs. J.B. ['Lizzie'] Wheat of Jamestown, Ky., had passed away after an illness of only a few days.
Mrs. Wheat was 81 years old last July.
Mr. Collins and Mrs. Wheat were both devout members of the Baptist church.
Mrs. Wheat is survived by three children, two daughters, Mrs. James Cox, of Gravel Switch, Ky., and Mrs. J.B. Grider of Los Angeles, Calif., and one son, Mr. Luther Wheat of Washington, D.C.
Mrs. Wheat and Mr. Collins are also survived by one brother, Mr. Uriah Collins, of Alamo, Texas; two sisters, Mrs. Susie Antle, of Montpelier, and Mrs. G.M. Stevenson of Columbia.
