Elwood "Woody" Kirkhoff, 86, formerly of Leesport, passed away Friday May 4th in Muncy Valley Skilled Nursing, Muncy, PA. He was married to the late Helen E. (Graham) Kirkhoff who passed away September 1, 2008. Born in Bern Twp., he was the son of the late Albert Kirkhoff and Margaret (Davis) Kirkhoff.

He was retired from Carpenter Technology in Reading after many years of service. In earlier years he worked on the family farm. After retirement he was employed by Leesport Farmers Market in Leesport. He was a member of Bern Evangelical Lutheran Church in Bern Twp. He was very active for many years in Central Berks Lions Club in Centerport and received numerous awards throughout the years during his Lions Club career. He was formerly a member of the Masonic Lodge.

Surviving is one daughter, three grandchildren,four great- granddaughters and one great-grandson. There are two sisters-in-law. He was predeceased by six brothers and two sisters. Burial will follow in Leesport Cemetery in Leesport.
