Foster E. Allen, 69, of Route 2, Palestine, died in the Camden-Clark Memorial hospital Tuesday evening. April 22, following a few weeks illness after suffering a stroke.

He was born at Newton, Roane County, Nov. 19, 1899, a son of the late W. Franklin and Lucy Ellis Allen. He had been a well known and respected Wirt County citizen for many years, and had been primarily engaged in farming.

He was a member of the Methodist Church, and a member of Palestine Council No. 33, of the Jr.O.U.A.M.

Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Preston (Mazie) Andrick, Rt. 2, Palestine, and Mrs. Ronald (Vonnie) McDaniel, of Parkersburg; two sons, Waldo F. Allen, Rt. 2, Palestine, and Elber Allen, Rt. 6, Rushville, Ind.; a sister, Mrs. Eska Jarvis, Newton, W.Va.; 10 grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

Mr. Allen was preceded in death by his wife, Mrs. Amma Jarvis Allen, a sister, and two brothers.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. tomorrow (Friday) at the Bethesda Baptist Church in Palestine. The Rev. Amos B. McVey, Jr., will officiate and burial will be in the church cemetery.

The body is at the McCray Funeral Home, City, where friends may call until an hour prior to the time of services, when the body will be taken to the church.
