Thomas J. Houdek
CHARLES CITY - Thomas J. Houdek, 79, died Friday at his home here. Funeral services will be Monday at 9 a.m. at the Immaculate Conception Church. The Rosary will be said Sunday at 8:30 p.m. at the Hauser Funeral Home.
Mr. and Mrs. Houdek had lived in Charles City the last 20 years. He had retired from Oliver Corporation and had been in failing health several years.
Surviving are his wife, the former Catherine Krall; three daughters, Mrs. (Alys) Arthur Bitler, Mt. Clemons, Mich.; Mrs. (Marcella) Charles Barr, Calmar; Mrs. (Doris) Eugene Erbe, Los Angeles, Calif.; two sons, Adolph Houdek, Boone; Virgil Houdek, Charles City; 11 grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
