Alice T. McAlister was born July 31, 1849, in Green County, KY, to Miss Martha "Patsy" McAlister. She and her sister Joann and brother Alfred were raised by their mother in the home of her mother's parents, John and Millie Slanker McAlister. It is unknown who the father or fathers of Patsy's children were.

Alice marrried William Alfred McCubbin in 1864, in Kentucky. Ten children -- four boys and six girls -- were born to this union. The family stayed in Kentucky, living in Lower Brush Creek and Glasgow in Barren County. After William died in 1916, Alice moved in with her son Carl and his wife Sammie, as reported in the 1920 Census.
She later joined her daughters in Bucyrus,OH, and remained there until her death on Dec 31, 1928.
