The deceased was born in Indiana July 12, 1862. He had been employed by the Mobile & Ohio Railroad Company as a car foreman for a number of years, and was a member of St. Andrew's church.
Mr. Staples is survived by his wife, Mary Emma Staples, one daughter, Mrs. Bernard Williams, of Murphysboro, and four sons, Lloyd Staples of Los Angeles, Calif., Clem Staples of Santa Anna, Calif., Jack Staples of Tamms, Ill. Also two grand children and one brother, Charlie Staples, of East St. Louis, Ill.
