Services for Allen McDonald, 72, of 842 Elm, who died 10:50 a.m. Thursday at West Texas Medical Center after a brief illness, will be 2 p.m. Saturday in North's Memorial Chapel, 242 Orange.
The Rev. Douglas Gossett, pastor of Fairmont United Methodist Church, will officiate, assisted by the Rev. Orlan, pastor of Lamesa Methodist Church. Burial will be in Cedar Hill Cemetery.
Born Oct. 5, 1907, in Coleman Co., he moved to Abilene in 1912. He was a graduate of Abilene High School. He married Frances Shoup April 4, 1927, in Abilene. He worked for the city and county in street and road departments.
Mr. McDonald worked for Morton Equipment Co. for 11 years. From 1954 until 1969 he was a partner in Patton Equipment Co. He retired in 1969. He was a member of the Church of Christ.
Survivors include his wife; two sons, W. A. Jr. of 2618 Robertson and Calvin W. of Blue Ridge; a brother, Walter of 1858 N. 10th; a sister, Mrs. J. M. (JNS) Ora Kirkpatrick of Wylie; seven grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Delbert McDonald, Chester Donald, Max Patton, Joe Grier, Mike McGrew and John Smith.
Willis Allen McDonald, Sr. was the son of Calvin Sawyer McDonald and Lillie Stella Green McDonald.
