The exact date of birth and date of death for George W. Stribling is unknown.
He married Elizabeth WILLIAMS 7 Aug 1833 in Marion Co, ILL
He was apparently a circuit riding Methodist Minister in the 1830s, as verified by the Methodist commission on History. In 1847 his youngest child Caroline (my great grandmother) was born, and in 1848 a bond was required for the care of his children. The 1850 census lists Elizabeth as "widow". The Antioch cemetery caretaker said there used to be a tombstone for GW Stribling, but when we were there in 2000 all we could find was this footstone which was near his brother-in-law's family, Benjamin White Williams.
