Sarah M. Stribling was born January 31, 1845 Odin, Illinois and departed this life at 6:40 p.m. on Sunday 21 November 1909 aged 64 years 9 months and 21 days.

She was married on Mar 6, 1861 at Salem Ill to Mr. Harvey Ambrose Meridith and to this union were born 7 children; 4 boys and 3 girls. Four of her children preceded her in death:
G. W. (named for her father), died age 6 months 1862-1863
Elizabeth R. "Lizzie" 1865-1885
H. S. (probably named Harvey) died age 5, 1869-1874
Cora M. died age 3, 1878-1881

The others were at their mother's bedside when she died:
Alonzo B. Meridith of Weingarten, MO,
William A.Meridith and
Lydia J., Mrs. F.E.Sanders of Harper Co, Kans.

Sarah became a widow on 19 Apr 1878 by death of Mr. Meridith and left to rear her children alone, with the youngest just a few days old.

On May 22 1889 she was united in marriage to J. M. Davidson, who is left to mourn along with Sarah's brother, B.S.Stribling, of Monette, Mo, her half brother, John A. Lydick of Harper Co, Kans, her children and a host of friends.

(from her obit:) Sarah professed hope in Christ in early girlhood and united with the Methodist church. From that time on she lived a true and devoted Christian her entire life....Services were in the M.E.Church on Tuesday, Nov 21 1909 at 1 pm by the Rev. J.M.Smith of Patoka, assisted by Rev. Heninger of the M.E.North church and Rev. J.C.Lindsay, pastor of our church in Odin.

Mother Dear has left us;
O! How we miss her here
But God in Heaven had called her
To join the angels there.
Oh, may we live to meet her,
On that bright and happy shore,
Where we can sing God's praise with Mother,
And those gone on before.
