Age 46, of Gardner, suddenly Friday, May 31, 2002 in Custer Township, Custer Park, IL. Born January 31, 1956 in Joliet. Jean was employed at the Tennant Insurance Agency in Wilmington. She was a former owner and operator of K and J Oils in Braidwood for approximately 15 years. Previously, she had been employed by Sun States at Commonwealth Edison in Braidwood and at the Godley Park District. She enjoyed painting, crafts and flower gardening.
    Surviving are two daughters, Christine (David) Van Dyke of Carrier Mills and Jody (Geoffrey) Keele of O'Fallon, MO; grandchildren, Dakota Jones and Bailey Jones; her mother, Beatrice (Alderson) Bookwalter; and a sister, Shirley Ann Bookwalter both of Braceville; brothers, Dale (Linda) Bookwalter of Kankakee and Larry (Sarah) Bookwalter of West Frankfort; sister-in-law, Shirley Bookwalter of Essex; and nieces and nephews.
    Preceded in death by her father, Samuel J. Bookwalter; brother, Donald Bookwalter; and nephews, Jacob and Travis Bookwalter.
    Funeral Services will be held at the R. W. Patterson Funeral Homes, Ltd, Braidwood Chapel, Monday, June 3, 2002 at 7 PM with visitation three hours preceding Services. Rev. Steven Friese will officiate. Cremation Rites will be accorded. Interment with private burial services will be at the Braceville-Gardner Cemetery in Braceville, IL.
