Enoch M. Bell, sixth child of Hannah (née Finch) and John Bell, senior, was born in 1813 in Belmont County, Ohio. His family moved in 1817 to Richland County, Ohio, and settled in Blooming Grove Township.
The Reverend Enoch M. Bell owned land and farmed in Richland, Delaware, and Morrow Counties, Ohio, and was a United Brethren Church minister. (He was likely a local preacher, permitted to lead worship and minister to his community, but not ordained and permitted to administer the Sacraments. )
Rev. Enoch M. Bell and Harriet Wheeler were married probably around 1830 in Richland County, Ohio.* The couple do not appear to have had children, but had a step-daughter, Mary Elizabeth Knott—Enoch M. Bell's orphaned niece.†
Enoch M. Bell died in 1885. His will stated that he resided in Lincoln Township, Morrow County, Ohio. His wife Harriet, and step-daughter Mary survived him.
