Dennis James Ayers enlisted in the Air Force in 1956 at the age of 17. For the next 21 years he served at various Air Force bases in the United States as well as Alaska, Greenland, Japan and Viet Nam.
He retired in 1977 from the service as a Master Sargeant. After his discharge he was employed as liaison to the military by the former Fairchild Republic Aircraft Manufacturer's in Hagerstown, MD.
From 1984 to 1988 he was assistant to the president of Mall Airways in Albany, New York.
He married Mary Mercy Guerra on 5 July 1958 in Buckeye, AZ. Three children were born to this union. At the time of his death he was living in Bleeker, Fulton, New York.
