Herbert A. Luce, 82, died at his home at 3006 Oakes avenue late Tuesday after a lingering illness. Mr. Luce had resided in and near Everett for the past 42 years and was active in Salvation Army work. Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Florence Luce of 3006 Oakes avenue; three daughters, Mrs. Louise Hill of Seattle, Mrs. Mable Thomas of Seattle and Mrs. Edith Allen of Cordova, Alaska; a son, Andrew LeBeau of 3316 Colby avenue; a brother Henry Luce of Bellingham, and four grandchildren. Funeral services for Mr. Luce will be held Friday afternoon at 1:30 o'clock from the funeral home of Purdy & Walters, with the captain, H. Sainsbury of the Salvation Army, officiating. Burial will be made in the Marysville cemetery.
