Emily Minnich McConkey was born in Franklin Township, Fulton County, Ohio, September 4th 1842, and departed this life November 14th 1913, aged 71 years, 2 months and 10 days. She was the eldest of a family of four children, one brother, John Lehre Minnich, who has preceded her to the Great Beyond, and two sisters, Mrs Dan (Louisa Ellen) Clingaman and Mrs Dema (Lodema) Carter. She obeyed the Gospel and confessed her faith in Jesus under the preaching of RW Winbigler. She was a member of the Christian Woman Board of Missions and lived a faithful christian life; she was united in marriage to Levi McConkey January 7th 1869. To this union were born two children, one daughter and one son.
Funeral services were held at the Tedrow Christian Church, conducted by Brother Hamilton of Portsmouth, Ohio. Interment was made at the East Franklin Cemetery.
