Born at/by the James M. Ussery (her g-gf) home near Caledonia, Miss. Mother died when she was almost 4 yrs. old. Raised by her grandmother, Frances Paralee Ussery Carothers, whom she loved dearly. Worked as an operator & supervisor of operators in West Point, Miss. Married HC Gray before his deployment to Europe during WWI, and upon his return, lived in MO, KS, and CO, before settling in Memphis in 1936. Beloved Mother & "Mamma."
