Daniel Norcross was born in 1780 in Rindge, NH, the son of Jeremiah and Lucy (Chaplin) Norcross. He married Polly Jones, the daughter of Asa and Mary (Martin) Jones. He was a farmer and they resided on the family homestead. Daniel and Lucy had fifteen children. She died July 21, 1834. He married 2nd, June 16, 1835, Sally (Hubbard) Rand, widow of Leonard Rand and daughter of Dea. Hezekiah Hubbard. Daniel was a Capt. of the militia and a citizen of good repute. He died August 1, 1858, aged 77 years.
