Jeremiah Norcross was born February 15, 1743 or 1744 in Lunenburg, MA, the son of Jeremiah and Faith (Page) Norcross and brother of Lieut. Page Norcross. He married, November 23, 1769, Lucy Chaplin, the daughter of Ebenezer Chaplin. Jeremiah and Lucy settled in Rindge on the farm that was of their family for several generations. Jeremiah and Lucy had seven children. In the Revolution Jeremiah was a member of Capt. Nathan Hale's company of Minutemen in 1775, he was a signatory of the "Association Test" in Rindge in 1776, and served in Col. Enoch Hale's Regiment in the Rhode Island expedition. He was constable in 1781. Jeremiah died of spotted fever December 1, 1811, aged 67 years.
