Since 1833 he has resided in Wakefield, where for several years he was involved in mercantile pursuits. He has been deputy sheriff and coroner of Middlesex County, postmaster at South Reading; and for many years a justice of the peace. He still resides in Wakefield and is a real-estate broker and insurance agent in Boston (Ezra S. Stearns, History of the Town of Rindge, New Hampshire [Boston, 1875], 613).
