Mrs. Thomas was born January 6, 1932, in Anderson. She lived most of her life at Joplin, returning to Anderson in 1992. She was a sewing machine operator and inspector for the clothing industry. She has worked for Miller Manufacturing Company, Joplin, Elder Manufacturing Company, Carl Junction and Phillsbury Company, Joplin.
She was a troop leader for Brownie Girl Scout Troop No. 60 and Boy Scouts in Carl Junction. She was a member of Patterson Heights Baptist Church, Anderson.
She married Harold Thomas in 1993 at Joplin. He survives.
Additional survivors include two sons, Dean Allen "Jody" Pate, Carl Junction, and Edward Scott Pate, address unavailable; two stepsons, Rick Thomas, Oklahoma, and Michael Thomas, of the home; a stepdaughter, Tina Keel, Anderson; five brothers, James Grissom, Oklahoma, Charles Grissom, Carl Junction, Raymond Grissom, Robert Grissom and Ronald grissom, all of Joplin; a sister, Jean Alford, Diamond; and seven grandchildren.
Services will be at 2 p.m. today at Patterson Heights Baptist Church, Anderson. Rev. Sam Mitchell will officiate. Burial will be in Howard Cemetery, Goodman.
