James Roy Grissom, age 85, of Rogers, Ark., died Thursday, Aug. 6, 2015, at Circle of Life Hospice, in Bentonville.

He was born in Anderson, Mo., on Oct. 5, 1929, to the late John Raymond and Bessie Caldona (Bailey) Grissom. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and was loved by all who knew him.

Survivors include wife, Esther Grissom; children, Ava Pearson, of Springfield, Mo., Scott Grissom, of North Carolina, Bradley Grissom, of Joplin; four brothers; nine grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; two sons, James and Glenn Grissom; and two sisters.

Visitation will be 10 to 11 a.m. with services beginning at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 11, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, Little Flock Ward, in Rogers. Graveside services will follow at 2 p.m. at Fayetteville National Cemetery.

Memorials, in lieu of flowers, may be made to fund missions in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints; or to Circle of Life Hospice, 901 Jones Road, Springdale, AR 72764.
