Captola Weiss, 96, of 225 Park, died at Fair-Moore Nursing Home early Thursday morning. She had been a resident there since September.
She was born June 6, 1870,in Middlebury to Mr. and Mrs. Jacob VanDorston. She married Casper J. Weiss in 1890. He died October 10, 1933.
Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Helma Clements and Miss Edith Weiss, both of Elkhart; two sons, Frank of Elkhart and Russel Weiss of Wisconsin Dells, Wis.; one brother, Frank VanDorston of Sturgis; three grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren.
Friends will be received at the Westbrook Metz Funeral Home after 2 p. m. Friday. Funeral services will be held there at 11 a. am . Saturday, with the Rev. W. W. Kennel, pastor of the First E U.B. church, officiating. Burial will be in Rice Cemetery. Mrs. Weiss was the oldest living member of the First E. U. B. Church.
