Gayle Alora Fairbourne England returned to her family and friends, July 1, 1997.
Her strength and character was an inspiration to all that witnessed her courageous 12 month battle against leukemia. She was a mother and best friend to all who knew her. Gayle was born on January 16, 1918 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Joseph T. and Mary L. Fairbourne. She is survived by her sweetheart of 60 years, Boyd England; daughter, Vikki Frailey (George; son, Jay England; Steve England (Sharon), all of Tooele; daughter, JoAnne Smith (Gordon), Centerville; sisters, Gladys Austin (Bob), Meridian, ID; Shirley Greathouse (Jesse), Kearns; 11 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren.
As a member of the LDS Church, Gayle served as President of the Primary. Civically she was involved as president of the Canyon Cove Elderly Housing Development. Many years of her life were devoted to a career in all aspects of the fashion and retail sales industry for the Style Shop, as well as years of employment at the Tooele Army Depot. Meeting the gang for lunch, traveling, dancing and music were all favorite past time of Gayle's. She gave her love so freely and without condition. We will forever cherish her youthful spirit, smiling eyes, sharp mind, and genuine concern for all. Our rock of comfort and support is gone and we must carry on with the strength to mirror her grace and beauty with dignity always.
