Myrtle Beasley Simmons, 88, died Sunday at Candler Hospital after a long illness. She was a Bulloch County native but lived in Savannah most of her life. She was a homemaker and a member of Upper Mill Creek Baptist Church.
She is survived by two daughters, Catherine S. Wolfe, Saannah, and Mary Margaret S. Roland, Orlando, Fla.; two sisters, Beatrice B. Ellis, Hopeulikit, Bertha Gay, Swainsboro; a brother, Ben Beasley, Hopeulikit; six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held at 3 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 23, at Upper Mill Creek Primitive Baptist Church with Elder Jack Anderson officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
