My paternal Grandfather Nicholas was born in Poland, the 4th of 11 children of Wojciech (Albert) Augustyn and Matrona Wilczynska. He immigrated to America with his sisters Mary and Catherine and their husbands in 1910, settling in Braddock, Pa. He met Anna Waradzyn there and they were married on 23 April 1910. Their first child Helena was born there. They then moved to Chicago and had three more children - Stanley, Ted and Edward (my father) all now deceased. After the death of Anna in 1946, Nicholas remarried to Francis (maiden name unknown). There were no additional children. Nicholas was employed as a machinist for most of his life. He died in 1952 at age 63 of colon cancer.
