Mrs. Grace E. Brenton, 68, of Bluffton, Route 2 was DOA at
the Clinic Hospital Thursday after suffering a heart attack
while visiting at the home of Mrs. Catherin Carnes of Route 1,
Poneto. She was born May 28, 1905 in Illinois, a daughter of
Edward and Lydia Rogers Karrick. Her marriage to Leonard
Brenton took place January 1, 1935 in Hoopeston, Illinois.
Also surviving are a daughter, Miss Lavon Brenton of Fort
Wayne; a son, Leonard Jr., of Bluffton, Route 2, four
grandchildren and one great grandchild. Also four sisters,
Mrs. Hershel (Lena) Miller of Rantoul, Illinois, Mrs. Harvey
(Mabel) Brewington of Hoopeston, Illinois, Mrs. Meredith
(Maxine) Helms of Warren, Route 3 and Mrs. Verlin (LaVonne)
Fuller of McMinnville, Oregon and four brothers, Everett and
Ervin Karrick, both of Route 1, Poneto, Elmer Karrick of
Boswell and Eugene Karrick of Lafayette.
Services will be Monday at the Liberty Center Baptist
Church with Rev. Clarence Roberts officiating. Burial in the
Elm Grove Cemetery with Thoma-Rich Funeral Home in
charge.
