He is survived by his daughter Donna J. Karrick Kirts, ten grandchildren and many great-grandchildren.
Charles worked for the Postal Service for many years and is retired. He had previously worked for the Brown Rubber Company and Goris Tire Company.
Charles graduated from Liberty Center High School in Liberty Center, Indiana He served in the Army Air Corps during World War II.
He enjoyed reading, spending winters in TX, camping and was a member of many camping clubs.
Charles was preceded in death by his parents, two step-daughters, whom he raised, Melvina Bray Riley and Carolyn Bray Kingston, six sisters and three brothers.
