HAROLD LAWTON Harold Lawton 63 of 2309 Glenwood, Independence, died today at the Jackson County Public Hospital. He was born in Lone Jack and had lived in Jackson County all his life. Mr. Lawton was an employee of the Jackson County Highway Deportment nine years before he retired.
He leaves his wife Mrs. Edna Lawton of the home four daughters; Mrs. Dorothy Mae Scovill 9900 77th Terrace, Raytown, Mrs. Hattie Marie Harris 886 Wigwam Trail, Mrs. Patricia Ann Cross 3307 Pleasant, both of Independence, and Mrs. Brenda Kay Pugh, Kansas City; three sons Earl Lawton, Clinton, Mo., Robert Lawton, 1836 Maywood, Independence, and Jack Lawton; two brothers Harry Lawton, 1604 Brookside, Independence, and Joe Lawton, Shelbina, Mo.; a sister Mrs. Merle Lefebvre, 1245 Blair, Kansas City; a half-sister, Mrs. Maude Thompson, Summit; 18 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Services will be at 10 am Thursday, at the Carson Chapel Winner Road at Fuller, Independence, burial in the Summit Cemetery. Friends may call from 7 to 9 pm Wednesday at the chapel.
