MEMPHIS Bert Chesteen, 90, died Saturday, Dec. 20, 1997, at Delta Medical Center in Memphis. He was a retired taxi driver. He was preceded in death by his wives, Dixie Hughes, Lydia Mae Onsby and Callie Cage Young. He was a member of the First Christian Church in Water Valley. He was a former resident of Oxford.
Services will be at 2 p.m. today at the Waller Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Ferman Anderson officiating. Burial will be in the North Oxford Cemetery.
Survivors include four daughters, Estelle Kimsey of Chattanooga, Tenn., Jean Brown and Mary Bert Powell, both of Memphis and Ouida O’Barr of Shreveport, La.; four stepdaughters, Louise Smith of Oxford, Jimmie Fay Blardinelli of Vero Beach, Fla., Ila Frances Rodriguez of San Antonio, Texas, and Viola Moore of Water Valley; one stepson, Jack Hughes of Water Valley; 19 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren, five great-great-grandchildren.
