Last rites for Lawrence Hudson Chesteen were held Thursday afternoon, May 2nd at the Poplar Springs Baptist Church with the Rev. Paul Brown officiating. Interment was in the church cemetery under the direction of Lee Funeral Home.
Mr. Chesteen, who passed away at the home of a son, Bert Chesteen in Oxford, on May 1st., was born in Montgomery County, Aug. 31, 1880. He was a member of the Poplar Springs Baptist Church.
In addition to his son, he leaves his wife, Mrs. Annie Graham Chesteen; 2 other sons, Davis Chesteen of Kilmichael, and Virgil Chesteen of Salem, Oregon; a daughter, Mrs. Grace Brewer of Joliet, Ill., 2 sisters, Edna Malone of Kilmichael and Mrs. Lela Bridges of Anguilla and 2 brothers, Tommie Lee Chesteen of Winona and Clarence Chesteen of French Camp.
