MRS. WILLIAM HEER DIES SUNDAY
Mrs. William Here, one of the aged resident of this city, died Sunday of this week at about two o'clock at the home on West Fifth Street after an illness of several months, two and one-half months of which time she had been confined to her bed. At the time of her death she was eighty three years, four months, and one day of age.
The funeral services were held Monday afternoon at two o'clock at the Methodist Church by Rev. E. S. Menoher. Burial was made in the local cemetery.
Whilimena Eberlig was born July 22, 1836, in Elmsholm, Holstein, Germany. She grew to womanhood and was educated in Germany, and was united in marriage to William Here in Elmsholm, December 15, 1871. They came to the United States in 1872, locating in the city of Chicago, from which place they moved to Milwaukee, Wisconsin, after two years. After a residence of 9 years in Milwaukee, they moved to Taylor County in that state. Their home was near Guss while resident of that county. In 1902 they moved to Villisca and had resided here since that date.
Four children, one daughter and three sons were born to this union. The daughter, Alma, died in March of this year; William Junior now lives at Knoxville, Tennessee; Adolph G. lives in Chicago, and Herman died in July 1905. Besides her husband and two sons, the deceased has one surviving sister, who lives in Hamburg, Germany, several nieces in Hamburg and Berlin, three nephews in New York City, two nieces in Chicago, four grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
Mrs. Heer was confirmed in the Lutheran Church when you and continued in that faith until death.
