YOUNG MAN PASSES AWAY
Herman Heer died last Saturday afternoon in Hot Springs, Arkansas, after an illness of a few weeks with typhoid fever and malaria. The body arrived here last night and the funeral was held from the residence of his parents, Mr. and Mrs. William Heer, this afternoon at 11 o’clock, the remains being buried in the Villisca Cemetery.
The young man was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, February 18, 1879, and when five years of age moved with his parents to Taylor County, Iowa. He made his home with his sister, Mrs. Kay Wills, in this city for five years learning his trade with Mr. Wills and later becoming a member of the International Brick Layers’ Union. Last December he went to Dallas, Texas, where he contracted the diseases which caused his early demise. Mr. Heer was a promising young man and his death causes a shadow of gloom among his relatives and many friends.
Those from a distance who attended the funeral were Adolph Heer of Clarinda and William Heer Jr. of East St. Louis, Illinois, both brothers of the deceased.
