Grave not marked. The photo here shows Nolan Woodruff, grandson of Louis David Woodruff, standing at the grave site which at one time was marked by the sandstone at his feet. h/o Ellen Nora Biddle who is buried at Hebron Baptist Church Cemetery, Dry Prong, Grant, LA
I've been told Louis was to be buried next to his wife, that a grave had been opened for him next to her, but the kin with whom he was staying in Gary decided to bury him there while the family in Louisiana was waiting for the body.
NOTE: Today, June 1, 2015, I went to Gary & Carthage and purchased a marker to be placed on the grave, at least as nearly as possible. It will be similar to the one for his wife, Ellen Biddle Woodruff including inscription on the back showing where she is buried. I will post a photo when the stone is competed and installed.
Sept 1, 2015. I have been notified the marker is finished and ready to be installed But I have to go back and show them where to set it as the grave is no longer marked. We do have several photos of his grandson Nolan Woodruff standing at the grave so we can place the marker fairly accurately.
Sept 16, 2015 Grave marker is going to be set on 9/17/15 at 10 a.m. All of his descendants are invited to be there.
