Curt's father was, according to family story, a Doyle/Doyal/Dial, who killed a man in a duel in Grant Parish and had to flee the area, returning to the Simpson/Elizabeth, LA area where the Doyle/Doyal/Dial family resided. It appears from Ellen & Lewis Application for Marriage License that Ellen had not been married to Curt's father as she is shown as Miss Ellen Biddle.
