Henry Clyde Abernathy was a son of Noah Lee Abernathy and Annie Blanche Lewis Abernathy of Lincoln Co., NC. He was married to Selma White Abernathy. They were parents of five children:

2. Donald Abernathy (m. Gaye Beam), Cherryville, NC;
3. Vickie Abernathy (m. ___ Wehunt; and m. ___);
4. Linda Abernathy (m. ?); and
5. Bobby Abernathy (m. ? ? ?).

Clyde died from a sudden heart attack. He was a carpenter by trade.
