SCOTTSBURG - Alfred E. Cheatham Sr., 65, Route 1, Scottsburg, died Thursday at his home. He was a native of Springfield, Ky., and a retired farmer and mechanic. Survivors: three sons, Alfred E. Jr. and Denny L. Cheatham, both of Salem, and Timothy M. Cheatham with the Navy in Norfolk, Va.; six daughters, Patty F. McCallister of Seymour, Glenda L. Jones of Ellettsville, Diane Rafert of Fortville, Betty J. Gambrell of Hamilton, Ohio, Sally A. Sowder of Salem and Brenda J. Zollman; three brothers, Woodrow and Elrod Cheatham, both of Vallonia, and Russell Cheatham; two sisters, Lillian Eisenback of Camden, S.C, and Mary Cheatham; and 19 grandchildren. Funeral: 1 p.m. Sunday, Collins Funeral Home. Burial: Mount Eden Cemetery, Washington County. Visitation: 4-8 p.m. Saturday and after 10 a.m. Sunday.
