Newport, Oct. 23. - Mrs. Victorine Baker, widow of Harry Baker, died Sunday afternoon, October 20, 1940, at her home in Donnally Mills. She was 74 years of age, and was the daughter of Peter and Julia Stringfellow Deardorff, and was born in Oliver township.
Surviving is one sister, Mrs. Howard Boyer, of Reading, and a half-sister, Miss Minnie Deardorff, of Newport; one son, Earl Baker, at home. She was a member of the Donnally Mills Evangelical Church.
Funeral services were held this morning at 10 o'clock at the Myers funeral home in Newport. The Rev. L. A. Fuhrman, pastor of the Newport Evangelical Church, officiated. Burial was made in the Newport cemetery.
