Fred Klahn, 97, of The Alverno died Sunday in the Nursing Facility.
Mass of the Christian Burial will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday in St. Boniface Catholic Church with the Rev. Harold O'Connor officiating. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2 to 9 p.m. today in Pape Funeral Home with a parish rosary recited at 7 p.m.
Pallbearers, all grandsons, will be William Jr., Robert H., Daniel L., Thomas G., and Mark A. Klahn and Timothy Day, Peter Scarano and Louis Ronnefeldt.
He was born Sept. 26, 1886, in Wheatland, Iowa, to Andrew and Emma Bentrott Klahn. He was signal foreman for Chicago North Western Railroad retiring in 1962. He married Gladys Horwath Feb. 1, 1916, in Clinton.
He was preceded in death by three sisters and four brothers.
