After high school in Toronto, Ontario, Josie became a social worker and her love of people influenced many a life especially the children who she contacted. Her early years of work were in Ottowa, Ontario. Josie never married and she lived most of her years in Goderich, Ontario in an apartment on West Street owned by her father. Josie died 29 October 1969 in a nursing Home on Nelson Street in Goderich.
