"Geneva M. Knechtges, 97, of Grafton, passed away Thursday, December 15, 2011, at the Renaissance in Olmsted Falls, after a long illness. She was born March 24, 1914 in Apple Creek, living in Grafton since 1940.

She was a member of Our Lady Queen of Peace, formerly Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, for many years and was a member of the Altar and Rosary Society. She was a graduate of Apple Creek High School and attended college in Wooster. Mrs. Knechtges enjoyed playing golf, and watching the Cleveland Browns and Cleveland Indians.

She is survived by two sons, Donald P. Knechtges of Avon and Richard C. Knechtges of Grafton; one daughter, Mary K. Knechtges of Mt. Clemons, Michigan; five grandchildren; two great grandchildren; and one sister, Margarette Ginnever of Mansfield.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Edwin in 1984; one brother, Clare; and one sister, Evelyn.*

Friends may call in Our Lady Queen of Peace Church, 708 Erie St., Grafton, Monday, December 19, 2011, from 10 A.M., until the time of the Funeral Mass at 11 A.M., with Father John P. Seabold as the Celebrant. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Grafton.

Family suggests memorials be made to Our Lady Queen of Peace, 708 Erie St., Grafton, OH 44044.

Blackburn-Duke Funeral Home, 1021 Main St., Grafton, handled the arrangements."
